When Lincoln University set out to modernise the lighting in its listed library building, the brief was exacting. The illumination levels had to be raised to meet today’s standards. The energy demand had to fall. The carbon footprint of the retrofit had to be as light as possible. And through it all, not a single change could be made to the existing structure of the heritage building.
